Healthy Dressing for Your Winter Salad

Let’s face it, the summer months dominate the salad scene with a multitude of healthy vinaigrette dressings leading the way. During the colder months, we tend to reach for the heartier, creamier, crumble cheese dressings, which can quickly defeat the purpose of making a healthy salad choice. Kevin’s Tip #1: We used baby spinach for this photo, but this dressing stands up well with any other leafy greens like Romaine, Bibb, Ice burg or Swiss Chard.

Kevin’s Tip #2: If you order a salad in a restaurant, watch out for dressing! Even if you order a lighter version, restaurants tend to be heavy handed with the amount of dressing they put on a salad. Ask for it on the side and then dip your fork in for each bite. This gives you the dressing you want and allows you to control the amount yourself.
